I always wish

Christmas could feel more religious to me. But it never seems to. I get these glimpses of the important side, but I never actually feel mystified by the events I'm actually celebrating. I get very consumed with giving gifts.

Here's some recent news:

1. Craigslist:
I wrote requesting car pictures (for Emmett) and some man is sending me his calendar from last year and purchased a calendar from this year. He's sending both to me with one request. That I do something good for 3 people.

2. Weird Traits:
I continue to realize that I am getting pickier as I get older. I am becoming very in touch with all these little idiosynchracies that are very strange. (I.E. I flick the car door before opening so I don't get a shock. I don't really like toast -- only bread. Salmon and heavy fish make me feel sick. I don't feel comfortable talking to Mike about our marriage etc.)

3. Job:
The job with the electronic artist is on hold, but I already have a nanny lined up. We are putting everything into the clothing company that most of you know about, including a small (but large) monetary gift we were given. I hired a Nanny for 2 days a week in 2006 and I plan to use this time to develop it. As for the cafe, well, Ana can't get down here until the end of 2006, so that's on hold until she can.

Emmett:
Astounds me with his cuteness and how good he is. It occurred to me that I need to introduce the term "Time Out" for when he throws things, but I don't really want to.

2005, in Summary:
It was a good year for me. A bad year for the country. The end of it was amazing, as we've been peeking out of our house a little more and going out.

2006 Goals:
• Weekly reading group for Emmett
• Get our house together
• Read the Bible and pray
• Go out twice a month on a weekend
• Get our business started
• Learn chess
• Have a great marriage
